What began as a single act of support in 2024 has grown into a powerful, ongoing partnership, one that continues to change the trajectory of the golf program at Edmonson High School.
When Drive Fore The Future first connected with the program, the team was facing significant challenges. Results on the course were difficult, and participation was limited. But with the right support, and a group of student-athletes willing to commit to something bigger, the foundation was laid for meaningful change.
Shortly after receiving their initial grant, Head Coach Shane Doyle shared an update that spoke volumes about the impact:
“The last two years, we didn’t win one match and we were dead last in every tournament we played in. This year, we’ve added 6 new players, we currently have a 4–1 match record, and we have not been last in any tournament, with top 10’s and top 20’s in individual play. We still have a long way to go, but your gift to us has transformed our team!”
That transformation didn’t stop there.
Fueled by improved performance and a growing sense of belief, interest in the program continued to build. More students began showing curiosity about the game, and the team saw additional growth in its roster - something that once felt out of reach.
Recognizing that momentum, Drive Fore The Future stepped in once again in the fall of 2025 to help sustain and accelerate that progress. The foundation provided additional team apparel from Dunning, helping unify the team with a more professional look, along with one more complete set of men’s clubs to ensure new players had the equipment needed to participate and compete.
For a program that once struggled to field a competitive roster, having both the equipment and the identity of a true team has made a lasting difference.
The continued support highlights something deeper than wins and losses, it reflects what can happen when access meets opportunity. With each new player who joins the team, the culture continues to shift. Confidence grows. Expectations rise. And the idea of what’s possible expands.
Edmonson High School’s golf program is still building, still improving, and still setting new goals. But one thing is clear: the combination of dedicated coaching, motivated student-athletes, and ongoing support from Drive Fore The Future has created real, measurable progress.
And as the roster continues to grow and interest in the game spreads throughout the school, this partnership stands as a reminder that lasting impact doesn’t happen all at once, it’s built over time.
