The reach of Drive Fore The Future goes far beyond the game of golf and exists for one reason: to provide underprivileged youth with fundamental values such as teamwork, good sportsmanship, sense of community, and strong work ethic.
In practice, that means identifying and providing resources most vital to these perspective golfers; spearheading solutions around socioeconomic challenges; coordinating and streamlining the efforts of multiple partners and sponsors; and preparing these individuals for a more successful path forward.
In principle, it means leveraging our core values of giving, optimism, tenacity, collaboration, and advocating for these individuals to achieve their greatest potential.

At Drive Fore the Future, we know that sports can offer students a sense of purpose, community, and hope, especially in areas where challenges run deep. Lansdowne High School, located near Baltimore, Maryland, is one such school facing significant economic hardship. Many of its students come from single-parent households, and a high percentage are English language learners. The community has also been impacted by gun violence and drug activity, making positive extracurricular activities like sports crucial for the students.
Despite these obstacles, many Lansdowne students are enthusiastic about participating in sports, including golf. However, the high cost of equipment has been a major hurdle for students eager to join the team. For these young athletes, golf is not just a pastime—it’s a meaningful way to stay engaged and avoid the negative influences that surround them. Unfortunately, recent cuts to the school’s budget have made it difficult to sustain sports programs like golf.
This is where Drive Fore the Future stepped in to make a difference. After being contacted by Stephen Coursey, teacher, coach and dedicated advocate for the Lansdowne golf team, we were able to provide six new sets of golf clubs, Callaway Warbird balls, polos, shoes, gloves, and practice gear to the school’s golf team.
The Lansdowne community showed its appreciation in many ways, including sharing photos, social media posts, and featuring the donation in their school newsletter. These small acts of gratitude remind us of the lasting impact that providing resources can have on students' lives, particularly in underserved communities.
Drive Fore the Future is proud to have supported Lansdowne High School, and we hope this is only the beginning of more students discovering the joys of golf and the life-changing opportunities it brings!

Happy Valley High School, located in Elizabethton, TN, has seen a growing interest in golf across both its junior high and high school teams. However, limited resources have posed a challenge for these athletes. Gene Renfro, the head golf coach for both junior high and high school, reached out to Drive Fore The Future for assistance in providing equipment and resources to current and prospective golfers in the district.
The junior high program plays a key role in introducing students to golf, with seven new players joining the team in the spring of 2024. For the high school team, golfers either continue developing their skills or pick up the sport for the first time. Notably, the high school girls' team finished third in the district tournament in 2023, including a player who overcame significant physical challenges. Additionally, the team was recognized with the TSSAA Distinguished Scholastic Achievement Award, achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA, one of only 30 girls’ golf teams to receive this honor statewide.
Recognizing this potential, Drive Fore The Future stepped in to help ensure financial barriers wouldn’t stand in the way of more students joining the teams. For the 2024 fall season, we provided the high school golf team with new clubs, bags, shoes, balls, and gloves. We look forward to continuing our support by assisting the junior high team in the spring of 2025, helping even more students experience the game of golf.
