Nestled in the heart of Escondido, California, San Pasqual High School serves a dynamic and diverse community. With a student body of 1,853, approximately 68% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

The school's golf program, led by Coach Vince Silva, began as a modest endeavor nine years ago. Starting with a small JV team and limited resources, the program has grown into a promising two-level team. Despite financial challenges, the golfers have demonstrated remarkable resilience, balancing academics, part-time jobs, and their commitment to the sport. Coach Silva notes, "Almost all of our students come to our program with no golfing experience and using antique clubs or clubs that we've had donated from the community."

While donations from local residents and businesses have helped provide equipment, much of it is dated and lacks the quality of what competing high school teams have access to.

This is where Drive Fore The Future stepped in. To help bridge the gap for students interested in golf but constrained by finances, we donated 10 complete sets of clubs, 20 polos, four pairs of golf shoes, golf balls, gloves, and a state-of-the-art simulator. This donation provides these students with a safe space year-round, coupled with consistent mentoring. Here, they can not only practice and develop their golf skills, but also maintain stable relationships, receiving support, encouragement, and a listening ear from positive role models who are truly invested in their personal growth.

Looking ahead, the golf program at San Pasqual High School aims to continue its growth, offering more students the chance to learn and excel in the sport. With the dedication of Coach Silva and the support of the community, the team is poised for even greater success in the years to come.
